What we don't like about Electrolux EW2F5W82 TimeCare 500

  • The door is hard to open and needs a push to the left.
  • The Eco 40-60 programme is hard to follow and takes a long time.
  • Changing the temperature on the eco programme shows an error.
  • No child lock, which matters in a home with toddlers.
  • No AquaStop leak protection.

Verdict

The Electrolux EW2F5W82 TimeCare 500 is an efficient washing machine in energy class A, with a low energy consumption of 47 kWh per 100 cycles and optimal water usage at 43 litres per cycle. The inverter motor and GentleCare drum with special perforations deliver delicate fabric care. The Time Manager function allows program durations to be adjusted as needed, and three quick programs are available: Express Care, Quick 30', and Quick 14'. Steam technology with the Hygiene program eliminates over 99.99% of viruses and bacteria. Downsides include a maximum spin speed of 1200 rpm, the absence of a child lock and load balancing system, only 14 washing programs, 10 advanced features, no anti-stain cycle, and no problem diagnosis capability. The machine also lacks a standard hygiene cycle, a key feature for many users.
