What we like about Bosch WIW28302GB

  • Spin noise of 66 dB keeps the machine calm at the end of a cycle.
  • Washing noise of 41 dB keeps the wash itself quiet.
  • A night or silent option lowers the noise further.
  • A reversible door can open on either side.
  • An interior light makes it easy to see inside the drum.
  • An energy saving mode is there for when you want to cut power use.

What we don't like about Bosch WIW28302GB

  • It uses 62 kWh per 100 cycles and has energy class C.
  • At 76 kg it is heavy to move.
  • There is no steam function.
  • There is no extra rinse function.
  • There is no self-cleaning function.

Verdict

Home workers and light sleepers should look hard at the Bosch WIW28302GB. It washes at 41 dB and spins at 66 dB, so it is easy to live with in a flat where people sleep late or work from home. A night or silent option lowers the noise further, and the AquaStop system guards against leaks. The door opens on either side, and a light inside the drum helps when you are sorting socks. The trade-off is running cost: it uses 62 kWh per 100 cycles and carries energy class C. At 76 kg it is also heavy, so it is not a machine to move often. It suits a buyer who wants a calm, sensible washer with a few handy extras and does not mind its weight or its power use.
