What we like about Filco Majestouch 2 Hakua TKL

    • Exceptional build quality with a heavy, 'rock-solid' feel often compared to a tank
    • Clean, modern 'chalk-white' aesthetic that stands out on a desk
    • Uses high-quality Costar stabilizers which provide a consistent typing feel across all keys
    • MX Silent Red switch option offers an incredibly quiet experience suitable for office environments
    • Compact tenkeyless (TKL) form factor saves desk space and improves ergonomics for mouse use
    • Features a dual-layer FR-4 glass epoxy board for improved durability and high-speed response

What we don't like about Filco Majestouch 2 Hakua TKL

    • Stock ABS keycaps are prone to developing a 'shiny' texture and the printed legends can wear off over time
    • Non-detachable USB cable is seen as outdated and less practical for travel
    • High price point compared to other keyboards with more modern features like RGB or software
    • White case material may experience yellowing after several years of use
    • Lacks modern 'bells and whistles' such as a USB passthrough, backlighting, or QMK/ZMK firmware support
    • Costar stabilizers can be more difficult to work with during keycap swapping and may occasionally rattle

    Verdict

The Filco Majestouch 2 Hakua TKL is a premium tenkeyless mechanical keyboard featuring a clean matte white finish and genuine Cherry MX switches. Built with a rigid steel plate and a dual-layer FR-4 glass epoxy PCB, it offers exceptional durability and a stable typing feel without software bloat. Key pros include its classic minimalist aesthetic, high-speed N-key rollover via PS/2, and legendary build quality that minimizes chassis flex. However, it lacks modern features like RGB backlighting, a detachable USB cable, and high-quality PBT keycaps, as it ships with standard laser-ablated ABS caps.
