What owners say about the Amazfit Helio Strap

Based on 224 owners sharing their experience in online comments

51%positive16%mixed33%negative

Owners appreciate accurate heart rate, long battery life, and good value, while sleep readings and workout detection often disappoint.

What owners dislike

  • Sleep tracking often misreads wake times and naps, counting time in bed or sitting as sleep and missing bathroom trips at night.18
  • Stock strap is short, stiff and uncomfortable for many wrists, and owners say it can feel painful or bulky.16
  • Workouts are often missed, started late or labelled only as generic activity, and the activity type cannot always be changed.14
  • Exertion score climbs to 100% early in the day after light activity, and recovery scores feel unrealistic and unhelpful.14
  • Heart rate readings drop sharply during intense efforts, and resting heart rate can read about double on low-HR users.13
  • Step counts run high or low versus other devices, with arm movements counted as steps and calories inflated when not moving.13
  • The app gives little actionable guidance, with insights that repeat and no way to export data.11
  • Sleep scores feel too generous or too low compared with sleep stages, and do not match HRV or how rested owners feel.11
  • Some units stop syncing or lose data after updates, and owners report slow or unhelpful customer support.10
  • Calorie totals are often wrong, including high burns while sleeping or double counts in the app.8

What we like about Amazfit Helio Strap

  • Ten days of battery life means you rarely think about charging.
  • At 20 g it is barely noticeable on the wrist.
  • No subscription is needed for the core features.
  • The free app covers the main functions.
  • Continuous SpO₂ and skin temperature tracking add health detail.
  • VO2 max and training load help with workout planning.

What we don't like about Amazfit Helio Strap

  • There is no display, so data can only be seen in the phone app.
  • No notifications come through to the band.
  • There is no built-in GPS, so routes are not tracked.
  • The strap does not fit larger wrists.
  • No charging cable comes in the box.

Verdict

Ten days of battery life and no screen define the Amazfit Helio Strap, a light band for people who want their data without a watch face. At 20 g it is barely noticeable on the wrist. It tracks sleep, heart rate, HRV and activity, and it adds SpO₂, skin temperature and a recovery time advisor. VO2 max, training load and 50 exercises add depth for workouts. The phone app shows the data, and the core features need no subscription. The trade-off is that there is no display and no notifications, and there is no built-in GPS, so routes are not tracked. It suits someone who trains with a phone nearby and wants clean data without distractions. It also works as a heart rate strap alongside another watch.
