The Notebookcheck review of the 6-inch PocketBook Verse Pro Color highlights its compact design, featuring an E Ink Kaleido 3 display (150 PPI color, 300 PPI black-and-white) and an IPX8 waterproof rating. Key hardware includes physical page-turn buttons, a quad-core processor, and 16 GB storage. The device is lauded for its extensive format support, Bluetooth 5.4 with text-to-speech functionality, and the adjustable SMARTlight feature for improved eye comfort. However, the review notes muted colors, noticeable touchscreen lag, and the lack of a microSD slot as cons, alongside a somewhat cumbersome dictionary mode.

The PocketBook Verse Pro Color serves as a technical upgrade over its predecessor, pairing a faster processor with a 6-inch E Ink Kaleido 3 display while maintaining competitive pricing. Key advantages include extensive format support, a waterproof IPX8 design, physical page-turn buttons, and an effective SMARTlight system. However, the 150 PPI resolution for color content results in less vibrant images, while the system can suffer from sluggish performance and lacks a true automatic light sensor. According to a gofeminin community review, the 6-inch PocketBook Verse Pro Color is a highly-rated, compact e-reader featuring an ergonomic design and IPX8 water protection. It supports 25 different file formats and includes useful features like the Onleihe library app and PocketBook Cloud synchronization. While the E Ink Kaleido 3 screen enhances illustrated content, users noted that the color display, along with the device's processor, can cause slightly slower performance and faster battery drain during heavy use compared to, or in addition to, its overall 100% recommendation rate.

The PocketBook Verse Pro Color, as tested by ComputerBase, is a compact 6-inch e-reader featuring E Ink Kaleido 3 technology at a price point comparable to its monochrome predecessor. Key strengths include its IPX8-rated, durable design with a grippy, ribbed back and four physical, customizable page-turn buttons. The E Ink Kaleido 3 display offers a crisp 300 PPI for black-and-white content, but color content is limited to 150 PPI and presents as muted, pastel-like shades. Furthermore, the screen size is generally considered too small for comfortably reading comics or mangas. A significant drawback is the unreliable automatic lighting adjustment, which depends on the time of day rather than a physical brightness sensor, requiring manual intervention. While the device functions well for reading and note-taking, it can feel sluggish, and large file syncs are slow, though the battery life is highly reliable.

The PocketBook Verse Pro Color is a compact, stylish 6-inch e-reader featuring a Kaleido 3 screen and practical physical page-turn buttons that are more reliable than the touchscreen. While offering excellent portability, IPX8 waterproofing, and broad file support, the device suffers from a sluggish processor that makes navigation and color highlighting tedious. Colors are muted compared to smartphones, and the 6-inch screen size is restrictive for comics, making this device best suited for those prioritizing physical buttons for text-based reading over color performance.

The PocketBook Verse Pro Color is a compact 6-inch e-reader featuring an E Ink Kaleido 3 display, offering 300 PPI for black-and-white text and 150 PPI for color,, making it suitable for viewing covers and illustrations. Key advantages include physical page-turn buttons, IPX8 waterproofing, and versatile format support. However, the device is hindered by slow, sluggish performance and a 6-inch screen that limits the experience for graphic novels. Additionally, the lack of a proper light sensor makes automatic brightness adjustment ineffective.
