Verdict

The Polti Moppy White is an innovative, Italian-made hybrid floor cleaner featuring a 1500-watt corded steam-charging base with a 0.7-litre water tank and a completely cordless, 0.5 kg ultra-light anodised aluminium mop with an adjustable telescopic handle (70-125 cm). Key advantages include its incredibly rapid 10-second heating time, a large 39x9 cm XXL flat plate for fast floor coverage, its dual capability to capture dust using electrostatic cloths or eliminate 99.9% of viruses and bacteria using steam-charged microfibre pads, and the fact that surfaces dry immediately and streak-free without chemical detergents. However, notable drawbacks include that the cordless mop component itself does not continuously generate steam and must be periodically returned to the base to re-sanitise and recharge the cloth with heat, making it less effective for removing stubborn, heavily baked-on grime or efficiently cleaning exceptionally large, continuous surface areas.
