What we like about De'Longhi AC230

  • Comprehensive 5-stage filtration (including HEPA, carbon, and UV/photocatalytic filters) effectively captures allergens, dust, and microbials
  • Noticeably improves room air quality and quickly eliminates strong unpleasant odours (such as cooking and smoking)
  • Features a very quiet minimum noise level, making it suitable for bedroom use during the night
  • Elegant sensor-touch screen and exclusive Air Quality System (AQS) make the control panel user-friendly and convenient
  • Washable pre-filter makes maintenance easier and helps prolong the life of the main filters

What we don't like about De'Longhi AC230

  • Replacement filters for the multi-stage system can be expensive and sometimes difficult to source
  • On its highest fan speeds, the unit can be noticeably loud or distracting

Main advantages include its highly effective multi-layered filtration, an automatic mode that dynamically adjusts the 3-speed fan based on pollution levels, user-friendly touch controls, a programmable timer (up to 8 hours), a filter replacement alert, and a relatively quiet operation spanning 33 to 50 dB. However, notable drawbacks include its higher energy consumption at maximum speeds compared to smaller units, the regular long-term cost of mandatory filter replacements, a lack of modern smart app or Wi-Fi integration, and a bottom cable storage compartment cover that awkwardly uses protruding screws.
