Third-party reviews

What we like about Hotpoint HB 123 CARE IT

  • A 12 kg capacity suits a big family wash.
  • A 75 L drum gives room for bulky loads.
  • 38 kWh per 100 cycles keeps power use low.
  • Steam technology is included as an option.
  • The gentle cycle and cold wash suit delicate clothes.
  • Delay start lets you choose when a cycle runs.

What we don't like about Hotpoint HB 123 CARE IT

  • 56 L of water per cycle is a lot.
  • At 79 kg it is hard to move.
  • The 63 cm depth may not fit a shallow gap.
  • The ECO cycle takes 239 min.
  • Spin noise of 76 dB is clearly heard across the room.

Verdict

Its 75 L drum is the first thing to notice on the Hotpoint HB 123 CARE IT, along with 12 kg capacity. At 38 kWh per 100 cycles, its electricity use is low for a large drum. Water is the catch, with 56 L a cycle. Steam technology, a gentle cycle and a cold wash widen what it can handle. Spin noise is 76 dB, so the spin is clearly heard across a room. The fastest cycle is 30 min and the ECO cycle takes 239 min, so plan ahead. At 79 kg and 63 cm deep, it is heavy and takes up plenty of room. It spins at 1400 RPM and runs on an inverter motor. It suits a family that washes big loads and does not need a quick wash.
