Verdict

A transparent door is the first thing you notice on the Smeg DNP92SEUK, a premium heat pump dryer. The door lets you check the clothes as they dry, and you can choose the drying time. Jeans and bed linen have their own programs, and the door can be reversed to open on either side of a kitchen. On a full load it uses 2.17 kWh, and on a part load 1.16 kWh, with 259 kWh a year overall and an A++ rating. At 64 dB it is noticeable in a quiet room. There is no Wi-Fi, no inverter motor and no interior light, so it is a plain machine by today's standards. It suits a buyer who wants a traditional dryer with programs for jeans and bedding and does not need connected extras.
