Verdict

The Sony ULT Tower 9AC is a massive, high-powered party speaker designed around a 7-driver system, which includes a large 320mm x 320mm X-Balanced woofer, two 120mm mid-range drivers, and four 40mm/50mm tweeters delivering immersive 360° Party Sound. Key advantages include two distinct ULT bass-boost frequencies (deep and punchy), an integrated 360° dynamic light show, Bluetooth 5.3 with high-resolution LDAC codec support, dual 1/4-inch inputs for microphones or guitars with dedicated echo/key controls, and an optical port for TV integration. However, despite being equipped with built-in castors and handles, portability is heavily constrained because the AC version lacks an internal battery, the large unit is heavy to lift, it features poor audio directivity if you stand directly behind it, and it lacks comprehensive weatherproofing beyond its splash-proof top touch panel.
