Verdict

The Elonex 621EB is a lightweight e-ink e-reader featuring a 6-inch Vizplex grayscale display with an 800 x 600 resolution (166 dpi) and 8 levels of grey. It is highly portable at just 180g and 9.5mm thick, equipped with 1GB of internal storage (expandable up to 16GB via SD card) and a 1000mAh battery that provides approximately 8,000 page turns. Its main strengths are its excellent daylight readability, support for DRM-protected EPUB and PDF formats through Adobe Digital Editions, and the inclusion of a 2.5mm headphone jack for audio support. However, users frequently note drawbacks such as slow startup times, a clunky interface driven by a navigation wheel rather than a touchscreen, sluggish page turns—especially with PDFs—and the lack of built-in Wi-Fi or a screen backlight.
