Third-party reviews

What we like about Siemens WG44G2ZAES

  • A 9 kg drum takes a large family's laundry in one go.
  • A 1400 rpm spin leaves clothes nearly dry.
  • Spin noise of 71 dB keeps the room calmer during spin.
  • Delay start of up to 24 h lets the wash finish when you get home.
  • Automatic dosing takes the guesswork out of detergent.
  • A 10-year motor warranty gives long cover.

What we don't like about Siemens WG44G2ZAES

  • At 72.5 kg it is hard to move.
  • There is no wool or duvet program.
  • There is no hand-wash or dark-garment program.
  • Water use is 50 L per cycle, which adds up over a busy week.

Verdict

Spin noise of 71 dB and a 9 kg drum make the Siemens WG44G2ZAES a good fit for a large household. The 65 L drum has a special drum design, and an anti-vibration design is built in. Automatic dosing is an uncommon extra, so you do not have to measure detergent and softener each time. The motor carries a 10-year warranty, and delay start can be set up to 24 h ahead. Steam, an extra rinse and a shirt cycle cover the everyday needs. The trade-off is weight: at 72.5 kg it is hard to move once it is in place. It suits a family that wants a big drum and a long delay start, and does not need every special program.
