What it is
Average grade from independent test sites, magazines and video reviewers, 1–10.
How we count it
Grades: Each review's own score is converted to 1–10; without one, we grade the review ourselves.

Third-party reviews

What we like about Bosch WGJ2540S1

  • The 10 kg drum handles big weekly loads.
  • Cycles for jeans, shirts, wool and hygiene suit each type of clothing.
  • The fastest cycle takes 15 min for a quick refresh.
  • The anti-crease function helps clothes come out smoother.
  • AquaStop and foam control are both fitted.
  • Delay start of up to 24 h lets you set the wash ahead.

What we don't like about Bosch WGJ2540S1

  • At 63.3 cm deep it needs more room than a 60 cm cupboard.
  • At 68.2 kg it is hard to move alone.
  • Front loading means you bend to reach the drum.
  • The 84.5 cm height rules out a low gap under a counter.

Verdict

Its drum holds 10 kg, which makes the Bosch WGJ2540S1 a white front-loader for households with a lot of washing. It takes a large load in one go. Cycles for jeans, shirts, wool, hygiene and outdoor clothes mean you rarely need to guess a setting. The anti-crease function and 1400 RPM spin help clothes come out in better shape, and the fastest cycle takes 15 min. A foam control system and AquaStop are fitted, and the Home Connect app lets you check the machine from a phone. The trade-off is size: at 63.3 cm deep and 68.2 kg, it needs a generous space and is hard to move alone. It suits a busy household that wants a machine with many care cycles and room for big loads.
