What we like about LG RHX1009NWB

  • A 9 kg capacity fits a full family load.
  • Heat pump drying uses less energy than vented models.
  • Humidity sensors stop the drying once clothes are ready.
  • AI technology and Wi-Fi add control from a phone.
  • It works with voice assistants.
  • A self-cleaning condenser cuts down on cleaning by hand.

What we don't like about LG RHX1009NWB

  • At 53 kg it is hard to move.
  • Eight drying programs is a short list.
  • The body is 60 cm wide and 66 cm deep, so it takes up a lot of floor.
  • At 64 dB it can be heard in the next room.

Verdict

The LG RHX1009NWB suits a family that runs a full 9 kg load most days and wants a heat pump with some smart extras. It has an inverter motor and humidity sensors, so the drying stops when the load is ready. AI technology and Wi-Fi set it apart, and a self-cleaning condenser means less cleaning by hand. The trade-off is size and weight: 53 kg is heavy to shift, and the body takes up a lot of floor. Eight drying programs is a short list, so it fits buyers who keep their cycles simple. It also has a wool program, an allergen program and an outdoor and sport program. Water recovery is rated B and energy efficiency is C, so it sits in the middle on efficiency.
