What we like about Bosch WTH85298II Serie 4

  • Heat pump drying works at lower temperatures, which is easier on clothes.
  • Humidity sensors stop the cycle when the load is dry.
  • An 8 kg capacity takes a full family load in one go.
  • Front loading makes it simple to fill and empty.
  • No outside vent is needed for drying.
  • The 84.2 cm height is a useful size to plan a space around.

What we don't like about Bosch WTH85298II Serie 4

  • Energy efficiency class E is a low rating for power use.
  • At 49.1 kg it is heavy to move.
  • The 60 cm width leaves little room in a tight space.
  • The door hinges on the right, which may not suit every layout.

Verdict

Eight kilograms of washing fits in the Bosch WTH85298II Serie 4, a heat pump dryer for a family that runs a load most days. A heat pump dries at lower temperatures than a vented machine, so the load is treated more gently and no outside vent is needed. Humidity sensors stop the cycle once the load is dry, so you do not have to check by hand. It stands 84.2 cm tall and has a special filter. Front loading keeps it simple to fill, and the door hinges on the right. The trade-off is energy: class E is a low rating, and at 49.1 kg the machine is heavy to move. Its 60 cm width leaves little room in a tight space, so measure before you buy.
