What we like about Linksys EA6350

  • Very easy setup and management through the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi interface and app.
  • Strong 5GHz performance for its price class.
  • Includes a fast USB 3.0 port for external storage sharing.
  • Slim, tidy design that suits small to medium homes.
  • Four Gigabit LAN ports provide solid wired connectivity.

What we don't like about Linksys EA6350

  • USB file transfer performance is only average.
  • The external antennas are fixed and cannot be replaced.
  • Some users report slowdowns every few days that require a reboot.
  • 2.4GHz performance is only moderate and can suffer in crowded environments.
  • Firewall options are fairly limited for advanced users.

Verdict

The Linksys EA6350 is an AC1200+ dual-band Smart Wi-Fi router designed for small to medium-sized households, offering theoretical speeds up to 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. Its hardware includes a single-core 800 MHz processor, two external non-removable antennas, four Gigabit LAN ports, one Gigabit WAN port, and a single USB 3.0 port for network-attached storage or printer sharing. Main pros include exceptional 5 GHz throughput performance for its class, beamforming technology for targeted signal delivery, and an easy setup process via the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi web console or mobile app. Notable cons include middling file-transfer speeds via the USB port, non-upgradable antennas, and the limitation that guest networking is restricted to the 2.4 GHz band only.
