What we like about Omnia Moon

  • High 20-bar extraction pressure that consistently delivers rich, full-bodied espresso with a perfect crema.
  • Excellent versatility, allowing users to switch between ground coffee and convenient Nespresso-compatible capsules.
  • Exceptional portability, featuring a quick 3-minute brewing process from hot or cold water and a durable EVA carrying case.
  • Very straightforward and intuitive operation with kid-friendly, single-button touch controls.
  • Quiet operational motor compared to other portable coffee makers on the market.

What we don't like about Omnia Moon

  • White outer casing is highly unforgiving, making coffee splinters, fingerprints, and limescale deposits immediately visible.
  • The white surface requires rigorous maintenance and frequent cleaning to prevent heat-induced yellowing over time.
  • Initial brews using ground coffee can sometimes turn out weak or watery if the extraction is not stopped early.
  • The small water reservoir capacity requires constant refilling, limiting output to small, single-shot batches.
  • The tight ground coffee compartment can be slightly cumbersome to seal and tamp perfectly.

Verdict

The Omnia Moon is a highly versatile, multi-capsule universal coffee machine operating at 1450 watts and 220/240 volts, with compact outer dimensions measuring 28 x 11.5 x 25 inches. Its standout features include a removable water tank, stable suction feet, and an innovative, interchangeable module system that allows users to swap brew heads effortlessly to accommodate Nespresso capsules, Dolce Gusto capsules, E.S.E. pods, or traditional ground coffee. The primary advantages of this machine are its exceptional compatibility across multiple popular capsule platforms and its user-friendly front-lever design that makes switching modules quick and simple. However, a notable disadvantage is that it lacks an integrated steam wand or automated milk frother, requiring users to purchase external equipment if they wish to prepare milk-based specialty drinks like lattes or cappuccinos.
