What we don't like about Ufesa Capriccio CG7115

  • At 600 W the water takes a while to reach brewing heat.
  • The 0.6 L tank and six cups limit it to a couple of drinkers.
  • The carafe is not insulated, so coffee cools in it.
  • The water tank cannot be removed, so it is filled in place.
  • Parts are not dishwasher-safe, so cleaning is by hand.

Verdict

Six cups and a 0.6 L tank make the Ufesa Capriccio CG7115 a small machine for one or two people. The body is steel, and at 1.23 kg it is easy to move from the counter to a cupboard. The warming plate keeps the coffee hot, and automatic shut-off switches the machine off after 40 min. The drip stop lets you pour a cup before the brew finishes, and the filter holder comes out for rinsing. The trade-off is power. At 600 W the water takes a while to reach brewing heat. The carafe is not insulated either, so coffee cools in it. The parts are not dishwasher-safe, so cleaning is by hand. It suits a single drinker or a couple who want a simple steel machine for a small kitchen corner.
