What we like about Elite Gourmet EHC113M

  • The body is stainless steel rather than plastic.

What we don't like about Elite Gourmet EHC113M

  • At 600 W it takes time to heat the water.
  • It has no carafe, so coffee goes straight into your mug.
  • The water tank cannot be removed, so you fill it in place.
  • It can be hard to tell when the brew has finished.
  • There is no integrated grinder, so you need ready-ground coffee.

Verdict

A narrow body, just 12.7 cm wide, makes the Elite Gourmet EHC113M a good pick for a small kitchen or a camper van. The filter is permanent, so there is no paper to buy, and the parts go in the dishwasher. The 600 W heater is the main limit. In tests it brewed at around 185 degrees, hot enough for good coffee, though the heater takes time. There is no carafe, so the coffee goes straight into your mug, and the water tank cannot be removed. It can be hard to tell when the brew has finished. It suits someone who makes one or two cups at a time, does not need a pot ready for a crowd, and wants a tidy machine for a counter or a van.
