What we like about De'Longhi ICM2.1

What we don't like about De'Longhi ICM2.1

  • The water tank is fixed in place, so you fill it where the machine stands.
  • At 26 cm wide and 35 cm tall it takes up a lot of counter.
  • The parts cannot go in the dishwasher.
  • The carafe is not insulated, so the coffee stays hot only on the warming plate.
  • It has no water filter, so tap water goes in as it comes.

Verdict

A timer and an aroma strength control set the De'Longhi ICM2.1 apart, and its 10 cups suit a household. The 1000 W heater gets a full pot going quickly. The drip stop lets you pour a cup early, and the warming plate keeps the pot hot. The removable filter holder makes cleaning a little easier, but the parts cannot go in the dishwasher. The trade-off is space: at 26 cm wide and 35 cm tall it needs room, and the water tank cannot be removed. It suits a household of several people who brew a big pot each morning and have space for a machine this size. It has a non-slip base and a water level indicator, so it stays put and you can see the level.
