What we like about Black+Decker DCM600B

  • It heats water hot enough for a proper cup.
  • The glass carafe is simple to use and lets you see the level.
  • Parts are dishwasher-safe, so cleaning is quick.
  • It shuts off after 120 min, so a forgotten pot is not left on.
  • At 1.13 kg it is light to move.
  • The water level indicator shows how much water is left.

What we don't like about Black+Decker DCM600B

  • It brews only 5 cups, so it suits small batches.
  • Its 650 W rating is low, so expect a slower brew.
  • The water tank is fixed, so you fill the machine in place.
  • The build is basic, with no app or grinder.
  • It uses paper filters, so you keep buying them.

Verdict

If you make one or two cups in the morning, the Black+Decker DCM600B covers that with little fuss. It is a basic machine with a glass carafe, a paper filter and a removable filter holder, and the parts go in the dishwasher. It heats water hot enough for a proper cup, and it switches off after 120 min if you forget it. The water level indicator helps you fill it to the right level. At 1.13 kg and 27.3 cm tall, it is light to move and small on the counter. The trade-offs are the 5 cups it brews and the 650 W power rating, which is low. It suits a single person or a couple who want a pretty good cup from a simple machine and do not need a big pot.
