Third-party reviews

What we like about SanGiorgio S5510C

  • 18 washing programs give plenty of choice.
  • 37 L of water per cycle keeps water use low.
  • A 42 cm door makes big items easy to load.
  • The wool cycle is gentle on delicate clothes.
  • The transparent door and time remaining indicator let you follow the wash.
  • Overflow protection stops water spilling over if something goes wrong.

What we don't like about SanGiorgio S5510C

  • Energy use of 65 kWh per 100 cycles adds up over a year.
  • The spin tops out at 1000 RPM, so clothes leave the drum wetter.
  • It has no inverter motor.
  • It has no display.
  • At 64 kg it is hard to move.

Verdict

18 washing programs and a 42 cm door are the main draw of the SanGiorgio S5510C, a white, front-loading machine for mixed laundry. It takes 7 kg of washing and uses 37 L of water per cycle, and the wool cycle helps with delicate loads. A transparent door lets you watch the wash, and a time remaining indicator shows how long is left. The trade-offs are real. It weighs 64 kg and is loud at 73 dB during spin, and it has no inverter motor and no display. Energy use is 65 kWh per 100 cycles, and the spin tops out at 1000 RPM, so clothes leave the drum wetter. It suits a buyer who wants a basic machine with plenty of programs and does not mind a few missing extras.
