What we like about Candy EY4061DW4/1-S

  • 48 cm depth fits narrow spaces where a standard machine will not.
  • 40 L of water per cycle keeps water use low.
  • 15 programs cover everyday needs.
  • Pre-wash, jeans and hygiene cycles cover the basics.
  • Self-cleaning helps keep the drum fresh.
  • Load balancing and overflow protection add safety.

What we don't like about Candy EY4061DW4/1-S

  • Maximum spin of 1000 RPM leaves clothes wetter.
  • There is no inverter motor for a quieter, longer-lasting run.
  • Spin noise of 77 dB is loud at the end of a cycle.
  • There is no display, so you cannot see the program or time left.
  • A 6 kg drum and 48 L of space are small for a family.

Verdict

Only 48 cm deep, the Candy EY4061DW4/1-S fits where a standard machine will not, and that is the main reason to buy it. It is a budget model with a 6 kg drum and 15 programs, enough for one person or a couple who wash little and often. Water use is 40 L per cycle, a sensible figure for a small machine. Pre-wash, jeans and hygiene cycles cover the basics, and self-cleaning helps keep the drum fresh between loads. The trade-off is in the spin and the controls. At 1000 RPM the spin is slow and clothes leave the drum wetter, and there is no display and no inverter motor. For a flat, a student or a holiday home where the washing is light, it does the job without fuss.
