What it is
Average grade from independent test sites, magazines and video reviewers, 1–10.
How we count it
Grades: Each review's own score is converted to 1–10; without one, we grade the review ourselves.
Weighting: Big test sites count more, short reviews half as much as full tests. A video review counts half.
Share: Too few models in this category have enough reviews yet, so reviews are shown but do not count in the overall score.

What we like about Siemens WU14UT70

  • The 1400 RPM spin takes out a lot of water before drying.
  • The energy saving mode cuts the power used per wash.
  • The soak function loosens dirt before the main cycle.
  • The shortest cycle takes 15 min, which suits a small load.
  • AquaStop protects the floor if a hose fails.
  • Pause and add lets you put in a forgotten item mid-wash.

What we don't like about Siemens WU14UT70

  • At 74.5 kg it is hard to move on your own.
  • It stands alone, so it cannot be built in under a counter.
  • At 8 kg, a large duvet needs a load to itself.
  • Its weight makes it a two-person job to shift.

Verdict

For a household that runs the washer most days, the Siemens WU14UT70 is a premium front loader. Its 14 programs give plenty of choice, and the 1400 RPM spin takes out a lot of water. Two things set it apart: an energy saving mode, and a soak function that loosens dirt before the main cycle. The shortest cycle takes 15 min, and pause and add lets you slip in a forgotten sock. AquaStop protects the floor if a hose fails. The trade-off is weight. At 74.5 kg it is hard to move, and it stands on its own, so it cannot slide under a counter. It suits a buyer with a fixed laundry corner who wants a machine for heavy, dirty loads and does not plan to move it.
