Third-party reviews

What we like about Hoover HREC9TE

  • The 125 L drum takes a big load of 9 kg.
  • The fast function finishes a small load in 30 min.
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth let you control it from your phone.
  • The water tank in the door means no outside hose is needed.
  • At 34.2 kg it is easy to move for a machine this size.
  • A selectable drying level lets you choose how dry the clothes end up.

What we don't like about Hoover HREC9TE

  • At 68 dB it is loud enough to notice in a quiet flat.
  • 616 kWh a year is a high figure for a dryer.
  • A full load uses 5.18 kWh per cycle, which adds up quickly.
  • Water recovery class C means it collects less water from the air.

Verdict

A 125 L drum that takes 9 kg of washing is the main reason to look at the Hoover HREC9TE. It is a condenser dryer, so it needs no hose to the outside, and it has a water tank in the door instead. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth let you control the dryer from your phone. The fast function finishes a small load in 30 min, and the drying level is yours to pick. At 34.2 kg it is easy to move for a machine this size. The trade-off is running costs and noise. It uses 616 kWh a year and 5.18 kWh on a full load, and at 68 dB it is loud. It suits a household with a steady flow of washing and a place where the noise will not bother anyone.
