Verdict

Nine kilograms of laundry in one load makes the Electrolux EDH3898SDE a good fit for a family that washes often. It is a heat pump with an inverter motor, and it carries an A++ rating and uses 259 kWh a year, which is efficient for a machine this size. The door can be hinged on either side, so you can set it where the room needs it. An interior light helps when you load it, and a fast function covers short cycles. Wool, sport and jeans programs cover most clothes. The trade-off is weight and noise: at 52 kg it is hard to move, and 65 dB is noticeable at night. The delayed start also tops out at 20 hours. It suits a family that wants an efficient, big-capacity dryer and does not mind a heavy machine.
