Reviews last updated: July 2026 · How we calculate this

What we like about Astrhori 6 5mm F 2 0 APS-C Fisheye

  • Excellent, durable all-metal build quality with a secure, screw-on metal lens cap
  • Very wide 192-degree field of view provides a unique circular fisheye perspective
  • Good image quality and sharpness starting at f/2, especially at close distances
  • Compact and lightweight, making it portable
  • Smooth and well-damped focusing ring
  • Affordable price point for a fast circular fisheye lens

What we don't like about Astrhori 6 5mm F 2 0 APS-C Fisheye

  • No autofocus; lens is fully manual, which may not suit all users
  • Bulbous front element is vulnerable to scratches
  • No filter threads due to the protruding glass element
  • Aperture ring is not as smooth or refined as some competitors
  • Limited space between the focus ring and camera mount, making it difficult for follow-focus accessories in video work

Verdict

The AstrHori 6.5mm f/2.0 is a manual circular fisheye lens designed for APS-C mirrorless cameras, offering an ultra-wide 192-degree field of view and a fast f/2.0 maximum aperture for enhanced low-light performance. Its optical construction consists of 6 elements in 5 groups, including high-refractive and extra-low dispersion (ED) glass, housed in a compact, all-metal body weighing approximately 268g. Main pros include its highly affordable price point, impressive 0.2m minimum focus distance for creative 'crystal ball' close-ups, and a tactile 9-blade diaphragm for smooth bokeh. However, potential cons include the inability to use standard screw-on filters due to the bulbous front element, the lack of electronic communication or autofocus, and reports of noticeable purple fringing and soft corners when shooting at wider apertures.
