Verdict

The JVC DLA-X30 is a Full HD home theater projector using a three-chip D-ILA design, known for its excellent native 50,000:1 contrast and very cinematic 2D image quality. It features a motorized 2x zoom, broad lens shift, lens memory for multiple aspect ratios, and very quiet operation at around 20 dB. Main strengths are its deep black levels, flexible installation, and strong motion handling for film content. Main drawbacks are its weaker 3D performance with possible flicker or crosstalk, no full color management system for advanced calibration, and brightness that is less convincing for 3D than some competing models.
