Verdict

The Hoover H-POWER 700 Special Allergy (HP730ALG) is a corded, bagless cylinder vacuum cleaner driven by an 850W motor that operates at a remarkably quiet noise level of just 68 dBA. Engineered for hygienic maintenance, it features a 2-litre dust tank equipped with Selfdust Clean one-click emptying and a silver ion coating to prevent bacterial growth. Its highly efficient single-cyclonic system is paired with a washable HEPA 13 filter that captures 99.97% of fine dust and allergens, making it ideal for allergy sufferers. Main advantages include its quiet performance, an ergonomic Hi-Controller handle with integrated suction controls, an extendable telescopic tube providing a large 10-metre operating radius, and a specialized parquet brush with soft bristles. However, notable drawbacks reported by users include its relatively short power cord length (6-7 metres), an aluminum floor nozzle design that can scratch delicate surfaces if rubber flaps wear down, and suboptimal performance on deep carpets compared to hard floors.
