The Asus ROG Strix Scope RX TKL Wireless Deluxe is a premium, competitive-gaming-focused keyboard that earns high praise for its exceptional build quality and top-notch, rock-solid construction. The reviewer highlights several major pros, including its tri-mode connectivity (2.4GHz wireless via a magnetically retained dongle, Bluetooth for up to 3 devices, and wired USB-C) and the inclusion of stable doubleshot PBT keycaps. Its thick rubber feet provide an incredibly secure desk grip, and the centralized RGB lighting is perfectly balanced due to the unique design of the RX optical switches. Additionally, the keyboard comes with a remarkably soft and supportive magnetic wrist rest and features a highly amusing "Stealth Key" that immediately minimizes all windows and mutes audio.

ROG STRIX Scope RX TKL Wireless Deluxe Keyboard Review

The Asus ROG Strix Scope RX TKL Wireless Deluxe is a premium 80% gaming keyboard featuring proprietary ROG RX optical-mechanical switches that provide a smooth, stable, and wobble-free typing experience. Its high-quality build includes an aluminum top plate, a magnetic leatherette wrist rest, and versatile tri-mode connectivity (2.4GHz, Bluetooth, USB), with a gamer-friendly design featuring an extended left Ctrl key. Despite the excellent performance, the custom hollow-square stem design makes the keyboard incompatible with standard aftermarket keycaps, limiting customization options. Other downsides include uneven RGB lighting, a relatively loud spacebar, and required reliance on the Armoury Crate software for firmware updates.

Asus ROG Strix Scope RX TKL Wireless Deluxe review - Pocket-lint

The Asus ROG Strix Scope RX TKL Wireless Deluxe is a premium, compact tenkeyless keyboard highly tailored for FPS gamers due to its space-saving frame and intelligent layout. Its standout features are the proprietary ROG RX optical-mechanical switches, which utilize an x-stabiliser and a four-pin connection to deliver a delightfully wobble-free, stable, and comfortable typing experience devoid of standard metallic pings or rattles. Notable pros include multi-device connectivity—spanning 2.4 GHz RF wireless, Bluetooth, and USB-C wired modes—up to 76 hours of wireless battery life, a plush magnetic padded wrist rest, and smart media key integration that eliminates the need for annoying dual-key combinations. However, the keyboard suffers from a few distinct downsides primarily tied to its aesthetic execution and customization limitations. While the double-shot PBT keycaps offer excellent long-term durability, their thickness severely restricts the RGB lighting, causing the key lettering to appear dark, dull, and nearly impossible to read when the backlighting is turned off. Additionally, custom keycap enthusiasts will be disappointed by the non-standard bottom row layout, and audio-centric users may miss having a dedicated volume wheel.

ASUS ROG Strix Scope RX TKL Deluxe Wireless Review

The ASUS ROG Strix Scope RX TKL Deluxe Wireless review by Jack Woodhams on KitGuru awards the keyboard an overall rating of 8.5 out of 10. Retailing for £149.95, this 80% tenkeyless (TKL) gaming keyboard features a premium aluminium top plate and matte-textured PBT double-shot keycaps. It provides a tri-mode connectivity system supporting USB 2.0, Bluetooth 5.2, and 2.4GHz RF wireless, complete with an LED ROG logo that conveniently acts as a battery life indicator. The unboxing experience includes generous accessories like a magnetic wrist rest, a USB wireless dongle with an extender, and custom stickers. The core strength of the hardware lies in its fantastic-feeling ROG RX optical switches (available in Red and Blue), which deliver a top-tier typing experience with no noticeable ping noise. Additional major benefits include bright, vivid per-key RGB backlighting and dedicated physical media keys. However, the review notes specific drawbacks, including non-uniform RGB lighting on long or stacked keys, a clanky spacebar, and a non-standard bottom layout. Furthermore, because of the proprietary shape of the underlying RX switches, users will find that the PBT...

The Hardware-Helden review evaluates the ASUS ROG Strix Scope RX TKL Wireless Deluxe, a premium, compact tenkeyless (TKL) gaming keyboard featuring tri-mode connectivity (2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB-C) and proprietary ROG RX Red linear optical switches. The reviewer heavily praises the build quality, noting its robust construction with a metal top plate, a soft magnetic leatherette wrist rest, and 7 rubber feet that ensure an incredibly stable, slip-free desk experience. Performance-wise, the keyboard shines in competitive gaming due to its latency-free wireless connection and excellent ghosting/blocking test results. Its RX switches provide a highly stable, wobble-free typing feel that is significantly quieter than standard Cherry MX alternatives, and the centralized LED placement ensures excellent, uniform keycap illumination. Furthermore, the battery comfortably delivers on expectations, retaining 5% power after roughly 70 hours of continuous standby use with low RGB illumination. On the downside, the review highlights several usability quirks and software frustrations. A major point of criticism is directed at the ASUS Armoury Crate software, which forces mandatory updates and account creation, occasionally locking users out of RGB customization until...

On the downside, the reviewer notes a few distinct cons that slightly hold the device back. The layout features an unusual inverted placement of numbers and special characters on the upper row, which can be disorienting if you look at the keys while typing. ASUS ROG Strix Scope RX TKL Wireless Deluxe, ROG RX Red, Qwerty US Review

The ASUS ROG Strix Scope RX TKL Wireless Deluxe is an innovative, well-built, and steady keyboard that offers great value for money and a highly consistent "thonky" typing experience. It stands out due to its unique optical-mechanical X-shaped bracing switches, which are linear, stable, and highly responsive without any irritating rattles or high-pitched squeaks. Users will also appreciate its reliable tri-mode connectivity (dongle, Bluetooth, and USB-C), subtle RGB lighting that does not bleed excessively from under the keycaps, and an adapted physical layout that features a wider Ctrl key and shifted Alt key for better ergonomic gaming angles. However, the design falls short with its weak wrist-rest magnets that detach too easily when moving the board, and double-shot ABS keycaps that lack illumination for the special characters on the number row. Additionally, the 4mm travel and 1.5mm actuation point feel too far apart for rapid double-tapping, wide keys tend to rattle upon release, and it completely misses out on dedicated media buttons or a volume wheel because of obtrusive "in-your-face" ROG branding.
