Verdict

The Logitech M557 is a compact, ambidextrous Bluetooth mouse featuring a high-definition 1000 DPI optical sensor and a versatile 6-button layout, including a dedicated Windows Start screen button and a tilt wheel for side-to-side scrolling. It operates without a USB receiver, offering a range of up to 10 metres, and is powered by two AA batteries that provide an exceptional life of up to 12 months. Its primary advantages include multi-OS compatibility with Windows, macOS, and Android, as well as highly customisable buttons through Logitech software to streamline workflows. However, some users note its 107g weight can feel slightly heavy due to the dual-battery requirement, and like many Bluetooth peripherals, it may occasionally experience connectivity interference or latency compared to dedicated 2.4GHz wireless receivers.
